Part‑time Grocery Clerk

About the role

We are looking for a friendly and reliable part‑time Grocery Clerk to join our Food Basics team in Ottawa. In this role you will be the face of the store, helping customers find what they need while keeping the shelves well‑stocked and attractive.

Key responsibilities

• Assist customers with product inquiries and provide excellent service.
• Stock merchandise, rotate products and create eye‑catching displays.
• Maintain clean and organized aisles, ensuring shelves are fully stocked and meet quality standards.
• Handle cash register and checkout duties as needed.
• Follow health, safety and store policies, including union‑related procedures.

Required profile

• Customer‑service oriented with a positive attitude.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights.
• Flexible availability for day, evening and weekend shifts.
• Attention to detail and good product knowledge.
• Previous retail or grocery experience is an asset.
