Operator Technician – Packaging Equipment

About the role

Jones Healthcare Group is seeking an Operator Technician to keep our packaging lines running safely, efficiently, and reliably. You will be hands‑on with automated and semi‑automated equipment, ensuring product quality and regulatory compliance while supporting continuous improvement on the production floor.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate, change over, dismantle, assemble and replace parts on bottle, vial, blister and ink‑jet printing systems.
• Perform minor mechanical and electrical troubleshooting to minimise downtime.
• Optimize line performance by adjusting heat‑sealing, dwell time and pressure settings.
• Conduct in‑process checks, finished‑package testing and batch reconciliation to meet cGMP standards.
• Complete Quality Assurance documentation accurately and on time.
• Support preventive maintenance activities and equipment calibrations, including scale calibration after roll changes.
• Verify packaging components against work orders using FIFO principles and replenish materials as needed.
• Execute line clearance and sanitation procedures according to SOPs.
• Collaborate with Packers, Mechanics and Production Leaders to achieve safety, quality and productivity targets.
• Escalate quality issues, equipment defects or safety concerns promptly.
• Provide training and guidance to new operators.

Required profile

• Technical aptitude for packaging equipment and mechanical/electrical systems.
• Strong understanding of cGMP, quality and safety regulations.
• Ability to follow detailed SOPs and documentation requirements.
• Team‑oriented mindset with good problem‑solving skills.
