Nuclear Procurement Buyer

About the role

Black & McDonald’s Power Generation team is expanding and seeks a dedicated Buyer to support nuclear projects. Based in Pickering, the Buyer reports to the Procurement Director and handles purchasing of equipment, materials, and services for the region.

Key responsibilities

• Secure quotes, evaluate discounts, and source materials, equipment, or services for bids and projects.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders, manage vendor contracts, and ensure timely billing.
• Monitor vendor performance, process returns, claims, and resolve supplier issues.
• Coordinate with Quality, Accounting, Project Management, and Site Management to align procurement activities.
• Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective vendors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• 1‑2 years of procurement experience, preferably on nuclear EPC projects.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, teamwork, and analytical abilities.
