Metal Fabricator

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Metal Fabricator to join our team in Victoria. The role involves producing structural steel components for a variety of projects, ensuring high quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to plan cutting, layout, and assembly sequences.
• Lay out reference points, construct patterns and templates, and operate heavy‑duty metal‑working machines.
• Cut, shape, and assemble plates and sections, welding (MIG/TIG) or bolting them together.
• Install fabricated components into final products and perform quality checks.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in structural metal or steel fabrication.
• Ability to work in noisy, dusty, outdoor urban environments.
• Own steel‑toed safety boots and a commitment to safety.

Required skills

• MIG and TIG welding techniques.
• Operation of brakes, presses and grinders.
• Use of heavy‑duty metal‑working machinery.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Pattern and template construction.
