Materials Recovery Facility Sorter

About the role

The Sorter works on a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) line, operating a designated work station to sort incoming waste streams. The role is essential for meeting quality and productivity targets while maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the assigned work station on a moving conveyor line to sort materials according to quality standards.
• Maintain the work area clean and orderly at all times.
• Clean screens and conveyors, which may require working at heights or in confined spaces using hand tools.
• Perform routine housekeeping tasks as assigned.
• Train and assist crew members when needed.
• Work 8‑hour shifts, either day or evening, in a COR‑certified plant.
• Comply with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
