Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Mountaineer Lodge is a family‑owned 80‑room property in Lake Louise offering a friendly, professional environment. As a Maintenance Technician you will keep guest rooms, common areas, mechanical systems and grounds in top condition while supporting other departments.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain daily upkeep of guest rooms, common areas, mechanical systems, staff housing and lodge grounds.
• Perform plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, pool/spa and HVAC tasks.
• Execute preventative maintenance schedules, respond to work orders and assist with seasonal opening/closing.
• Provide grounds upkeep including snow removal, landscaping and yard work.
• Champion safe work practices and support guest services, security and events teams.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team and report priorities, safety compliance and improvements to the Maintenance Manager.
• Greet guests to ensure an exceptional experience and assist other departments as needed.

Required profile

• Grade 12 diploma (or equivalent); trade certificate or related experience is an asset.
• Strong problem‑solving attitude, self‑starter mindset and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, lift up to 50 lb and work flexible shifts (days, evenings, weekends).
• Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean abstract.
• Willingness to undergo a criminal record check; First Aid certification is a plus.
