Maintenance Manager – Power Plant

About the role

Atura Power operates the largest fleet of combined‑cycle power plants in Ontario. The Maintenance Manager will be based at the Napanee Generating Station (NGS), a 900 MW, 2‑on‑1 plant, and will also oversee the on‑site Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will lead a team of mechanical, electrical & instrumentation technicians and a planner.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the maintenance program to ensure safe, compliant and reliable plant operations, including turnarounds and emergency response.
• Develop, execute and maintain short‑ and long‑range maintenance plans, contract services strategy, and O&M budget.
• Manage resources – people, finances, materials, and time – to maximise plant availability and reliability.
• Ensure all documentation complies with federal, provincial and local regulations (NERC, TSSA, MECP, ECC, IESO).
• Oversee the BESS, coordinate outages, and manage maintenance contracts and spare‑parts inventory.

Required profile

• Red Seal trade certification (Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumentation) or First Class Power Engineer/Professional Engineer.
• Hands‑on maintenance experience in combined‑cycle power plants, preferably 7+ years.
• Proven leadership in a unionised environment and experience with health, safety and environmental programs.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interaction with internal and external stakeholders.

Required skills

• Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation maintenance expertise.
• Experience with Maximo for preventive and corrective work order management.
• Knowledge of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) operations.
