Maintenance Assistant – Commercial Properties

About the role

The Maintenance Assistant supports the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor in keeping Amacon’s commercial properties across the Lower Mainland in optimal condition. The role combines independent work with collaborative tasks and involves a variety of hands‑on maintenance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with projects and daily assignments.
• Perform regular maintenance on commercial properties, including light‑bulb replacement, carpentry, painting, minor drywall, plumbing and floor repairs.
• Complete preventative maintenance, annual inspections, landscaping, pressure washing and window cleaning.
• Operate a ½‑ton truck to transport materials and equipment and handle loading/unloading.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous construction or maintenance experience is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract and ability to drive between sites.
• Reliability, punctuality and ability to work independently.

Required skills

• Use of manual and small powered hand tools.
• Operation of a ½‑ton truck for material transport.
• Physical ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lb and perform climbing, walking and standing on commercial sites.
