Intermediate Geotechnical/Geological Engineer – Tailings

About the role

We are seeking an Intermediate Geotechnical/Geological Engineer to contribute to the design, construction and operation of greenfield or existing tailings storage facilities across Canada. You will work within a multi‑disciplinary team of geotechnical engineers, geoscientists, hydrologists and other specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute site investigations, characterize foundations and tailings for geotechnical design.
• Perform hazard assessments, stability analyses and develop construction drawings and specifications.
• Oversee construction activities, conduct quality assurance, and respond to contractor and client inquiries.
• Carry out dam safety inspections, review instrumentation data and prepare technical reports.
• Present technical content to clients, regulators and review boards, and mentor junior staff.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in Civil or Geological Engineering; postgraduate degree preferred.
• Professional Engineer registration.
• 5+ years of experience in tailings management and dam design, covering investigation, design, construction, operation and closure.
• Strong leadership, analytical, project management and communication abilities.
