Locum Pediatric Oncologist – Solid Tumor Oncology

About the role

The Department of Pediatrics at CHEO, University of Ottawa is seeking a full‑time locum Pediatric Oncologist to join the Division of Hematology/Oncology for a 1‑year term starting January 2027. The role involves providing inpatient and outpatient clinical services for infants and children with extra‑cranial solid tumor malignancies, with occasional weekend daytime coverage. English is required for documentation; French proficiency is an asset.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for children, adolescents and young adults with solid tumor cancers such as sarcomas, neuroblastoma, renal, liver and germ‑cell tumors.
• Provide weekend daytime coverage as needed to ensure continuity of care.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives, including expanding regional and national leadership in solid‑tumor oncology, fertility preservation, and pediatric cancer genetics.

Required profile

• MD eligible for licensure in Ontario and certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology (or equivalent training).
• Ability to practice clinically in English; proficiency in French is considered an asset. Preference given to Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
