Litigation and Real Estate Lawyer

About the role

The firm is seeking a motivated lawyer to handle both litigation and real‑estate matters. The successful candidate will work directly with clients, opposing counsel, lenders and court staff, balancing multiple deadlines in a fast‑moving environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage civil and commercial litigation files, including mortgage enforcement, debt recovery, construction and contractual disputes.
• Draft pleadings, motions, affidavits, correspondence and settlement documents.
• Attend court appearances, motions, case conferences, discoveries, mediations and other litigation steps.
• Oversee real‑estate transactions: residential purchases, sales, refinances, commercial deals and mortgage files.
• Review agreements of purchase and sale, conduct title searches, prepare requisitions, closing documents and undertakings.
• Communicate with all stakeholders throughout the transaction process and ensure timely, accurate file completion.

Required profile

• Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
• 2‑5 years of experience in civil litigation and real‑estate law.
• Strong drafting, research and analytical abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
• Proven ability to manage competing deadlines and multiple files independently and as part of a team.
• Confident communicator with clients, counsel, lenders and court personnel.

Required skills

• Experience with real‑estate conveyancing software such as Teraview, Unity, Soluno or Filevine (or similar platforms).
