About the role
We are looking for an experienced line cook to join our kitchen team. The role involves preparing high‑quality dishes, managing food portions and supporting the overall kitchen operations in a fast‑paced restaurant environment.
Key responsibilities
- Determine appropriate portion sizes and calculate associated costs.
- Plan menus and estimate food requirements for service.
- Order food and kitchen supplies to maintain stock levels.
- Prepare meals for customers with allergies or dietary intolerances.
- Train and supervise kitchen staff and helpers.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of food, supplies and equipment.
- Ensure cleanliness of kitchen and work areas.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations and conduct inspections of food service areas.
Required profile
- 3 to less than 5 years of experience as a line cook or similar kitchen role.
- Secondary school graduation (high school) or equivalent.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, handle heavy loads and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
Required skills
- Food portioning and cost calculation.
- Menu planning and food requirement estimation.
- Inventory management of food and kitchen supplies.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
