Lead Social Media Manager

About the role

GitLab is looking for a Lead Social Media Manager to own the end‑to‑end social strategy for its developer‑focused audience. The role will shape the content calendar, drive employee advocacy, and produce technical‑rich social posts that resonate with engineers and decision‑makers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, maintain and execute a comprehensive social media content calendar across LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Instagram and YouTube.
• Schedule and publish posts using Sprout Social, ensuring optimal timing and consistent cadence.
• Create developer‑centric content such as tutorials, code snippets, technical tips and product highlights.
• Collaborate with the Developer Advocacy and engineering teams to translate complex technical concepts into engaging social formats.
• Monitor developer communities, engage in relevant conversations and amplify employee advocacy programs.
• Track, analyze and report on engagement metrics, adjusting strategy based on performance data.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented professional with strong organizational skills and experience managing multi‑channel social calendars.
• Deep understanding of the software development community and its communication preferences.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with technical teams.
