About the role

The Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) in Georgia is seeking dedicated individuals to join its team of Juvenile Correctional Officers. Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for the custody and rehabilitation of juvenile offenders.
• Supervise daily activities of youth while ensuring order and control within the facility.
• Enforce facility rules and state regulations as a certified peace officer.
• Participate in training programs, including the DJJ academy and POST certification.
• Respond to incidents, conduct searches, and complete required documentation.

Required profile

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• U.S. citizenship with no felony convictions.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Successful completion of background check, drug screening, and physical examination.
• Pass the POST‑approved COMPASS test (or be exempt with a four‑year degree or prior POST certification).
