Junior Developer

About the role

Join Scotiabank’s Global Payments Technology team as a Junior Developer, contributing to modernisation programs that deliver enriched experiences for customers. You will work in an inclusive, high‑performing environment focused on learning and collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Champion a customer‑focused culture and deepen client relationships.
• Build scalable, maintainable micro‑front‑ends (MFEs) using ReactJS and back‑end for front‑ends (BFFs) with NodeJS.
• Develop backend APIs with the Spring Boot stack.
• Write clean, well‑documented code and assist with feature documentation.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing and debugging.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Deploy and monitor applications in GCP and Azure environments.
• Contribute to design decisions and propose improvements.

Required profile

• Working knowledge of ReactJS and NodeJS for frontend development.
• Working knowledge of Spring Boot for backend services.
• Understanding of software development best practices, testing and debugging.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts, Git version control and agile methodologies.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Eagerness to learn and grow in a collaborative environment.
