IT Support Technician

About the role

The Workers’ Safety and Compensation Board (WSCB) is seeking a permanent IT Support Technician to join its Business Technology team. This position provides professional networking, client support, and technology asset administration for internal departments while helping injured workers stay connected to services.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments.
• Provide end‑user, systems, and application support across the organization.
• Install, configure, and maintain software, hardware, and peripheral devices.
• Support a Microsoft Windows environment, including troubleshooting and updates.
• Manage technology assets and ensure accurate inventory records.
• Collaborate with the Business Technology Manager and other IT staff to resolve incidents and improve services.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary coursework in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience providing technical support in a team environment.
• Experience installing and maintaining computer software, hardware, and related environments.
• Experience supporting a Microsoft environment.
• Ability to meet the Yukon Government Core Competency Framework standards.
• Current RCMP Security Clearance (must be obtained and maintained).
