IT Security Analyst – Cyber Automation & Defense (Hybrid)

About the role

Dawn InfoTek Inc. is seeking an IT Security Analyst to join the Cyber Automation & Defense group of a major Canadian bank. The consultant will help identify security exposures, design compensating controls, and develop detection content to protect the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and analyse security gaps across the bank’s environment.
• Design, develop and implement security content and DLP controls based on the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
• Create detection rules and alerts for SIEM/XDR platforms to mitigate cyber threats.
• Support migration to a new SIEM system and ensure seamless enablement of controls.
• Produce quantitative and qualitative reports, data‑flow diagrams and visual presentations for senior leadership.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of experience building security content and conducting security control analysis.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
• Effective communication of findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Post‑secondary education in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related field.

Required skills

• MITRE ATT&CK framework for security content development.
• Hands‑on experience with SIEM, XDR and Next‑Generation Firewalls (NGFW).
• Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and data‑discovery use‑case development.
• Proficiency with productivity tools for reporting and visual presentation.
