IT Infrastructure Specialist

About the role

Charter is seeking an IT Infrastructure Specialist to oversee the health, security and performance of its IT environment. The role serves as the primary technical authority, collaborating with internal teams and external providers to deliver reliable and cost-effective technology services that support business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead IT infrastructure, networking, cloud services, cybersecurity and end-user computing initiatives.
• Own and continuously improve IT Service Management processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration).
• Manage third-party service providers, ensuring SLA compliance and operational excellence.
• Direct cybersecurity activities including vulnerability management, security hardening and incident response.
• Administer Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), Active Directory and Azure environments, overseeing governance and cost control.
• Maintain and enhance network, cloud, server, endpoint, voice/video collaboration and data storage infrastructure across all locations.
• Provide advanced technical support to users both remotely and onsite.
• Ensure data protection through access controls, backup, archiving, business continuity and disaster recovery.

Required profile

• Post-secondary education in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure and cloud services.
• Proven experience managing outsourced service providers against SLAs.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and organizational abilities.

Required skills

• Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID (Azure AD) and Active Directory.
• Networking technologies, including Cisco, Extreme Networks and SD-WAN.
• Cybersecurity practices such as vulnerability management and incident response.
• IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks.
• Cloud and server infrastructure, endpoint management, voice/video collaboration, data storage, backup and disaster recovery.
