Intermediate Teacher (0.8 FTE) – Fruitvale Elementary

About the role

The Kootenay-Columbia School District is seeking a qualified Intermediate Teacher for Fruitvale Elementary School on a 0.8 FTE basis. This temporary assignment runs from September 1, 2026 to December 18, 2026, with the possibility of extension or full return of the incumbent.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the renewed intermediate curriculum and assess student learning outcomes.
• Plan and implement a variety of instructional and assessment strategies.
• Integrate appropriate educational technologies into daily lessons.
• Collaborate with grade‑level colleagues to ensure cohesive teaching approaches.
• Maintain effective classroom management and a positive learning environment.

Required profile

• BC teaching certification.
• Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education.
• Previous successful experience teaching at the intermediate level (preferred).
• Current knowledge of the renewed curriculum, learning outcomes, and resources.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
