Information Security Engineer – North America (EST)

About the role

Deel is looking for an Information Security Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of core security platforms across our global, remote‑first environment. You will drive defense‑in‑depth initiatives, ensure compliance with worldwide regulations, and protect sensitive data for millions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) tools, including configuration, policy tuning, and custom threat detection rule development.
• Own the full lifecycle of multiple security solutions, from architecture and deployment to monitoring and continuous improvement.
• Translate security best practices and regulatory requirements into actionable technical controls.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and compliance teams to embed security into the development pipeline.
• Conduct threat modeling, risk assessments, and incident response activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and operating security platforms in a SaaS or cloud‑native environment.
• Strong understanding of defense‑in‑depth strategies and global regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2).
• Hands‑on expertise with EDR solutions and the ability to write custom detection logic.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work autonomously in a distributed team.
