Human Resources Generalist

About the role

The Human Resources Generalist provides first‑point‑of‑contact support for employees and managers on HR policies, procedures and programs. Reporting to the HR Manager, the incumbent delivers administrative and operational assistance across talent acquisition, performance management, compensation and HR information systems.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full recruitment cycle: write job ads, post vacancies, screen resumes, coordinate interviews, conduct background checks, extend offers and oversee onboarding.
• Apply equity, diversity and inclusion lenses to all hiring activities and maintain recruitment data for monitoring equitable outcomes.
• Support performance‑management processes, prepare bonus and salary‑adjustment communications, and assist employees with performance‑management software.
• Maintain and update HRIS, attendance, training and professional‑development records; generate ad‑hoc HR reports and train staff on system use.
• Coordinate employee engagement, recognition programs and conduct exit interviews.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures and employment legislation.
• Ability to act as a trusted advisor to staff and managers while exercising sound judgment.
• Commitment to advancing equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility in all HR practices.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Required skills

• HRIS (Human Resources Information System) proficiency.
