Human Resources Generalist

About the role

SMS Security is expanding rapidly and seeks a proactive Human Resources Generalist to support its growing team. You will partner with managers and employees across recruitment, employee relations, training, policy administration, and compliance, helping to build a strong, engaged workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, reference checks and onboarding.
• Maintain accurate HR records, metrics and documentation while supporting continuous improvement in HR programs, systems and processes.
• Manage employee information in the HRIS and generate regular and ad‑hoc reports for management.
• Coordinate and facilitate employee onboarding and orientation programs to ensure a positive experience and compliance.
• Monitor and track completion of mandatory compliance and role‑specific training.
• Support implementation and administration of the Learning Management System (LMS), maintaining training records and updating content.
• Coordinate employee lifecycle activities with payroll, including status changes, leaves and terminations.
• Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures and programs, and coach managers on performance, attendance and conduct issues.
• Promote employee engagement, recognition and inclusion initiatives.
• Conduct exit interviews, analyze trends and recommend retention improvements.
• Administer performance management programs and monitor employee leaves and accommodations.
• Ensure compliance with employment, labour, health and safety, accessibility, privacy and other applicable legislation.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in an HR role covering multiple functional areas.
• Undergraduate degree in Business, Human Resources or a related discipline.

Required skills

• Experience with HRIS platforms.
• Experience with Learning Management System (LMS) administration.
