HSE Coordinator

About the role

The HSE Coordinator joins a multidisciplinary team at Strike’s Crossfield shop/module yard to support the implementation and monitoring of the company’s Health, Safety and Environment Management System. The role focuses on day‑to‑day safety activities at the work face, fostering a strong culture of safety.

Key responsibilities

• Assist operations and employees with the HSE Management System and Safe Work Manuals.
• Develop, test, and maintain Emergency Response Plans and Site‑Specific Safety Plans.
• Coordinate daily HSE activities such as pre‑job HIACs, site inspections, incident reporting, and safety meetings.
• Provide training on safe job procedures, safe work practices, and codes of practice.
• Manage worker injury resolution, modified work programs, and WCB claims.
• Administer safety observation cards, monitor near‑misses, and drive hazard identification and control.
• Support the Alcohol & Drug program, including testing coordination.
• Maintain MSDS inventory, oversee PPE and safety equipment inspection and procurement.
• Lead or assist incident investigations and contribute to trending, reporting, and data management.
• Participate in contractor health‑and‑safety assessments and pre‑qualification processes.

• Ability to communicate clearly, train staff, and mentor colleagues on safety practices.

Required skills

• Experience with HSE management systems and safety documentation.
• Knowledge of hazard identification, assessment, and control (HIAC) processes.
• Familiarity with incident investigation techniques and reporting tools.
• Proficiency in maintaining MSDS records and managing PPE inventories.
