HR Generalist

About the role

Stellar is looking for an empathetic, resilient HR Generalist to join its Human Resources team. The role blends full‑cycle HR, recruitment and day‑to‑day employee relations while supporting a hybrid studio environment.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a trusted partner to supervisors, guiding difficult conversations, performance improvement plans and terminations with empathy and compliance.
• Own and track performance review and probation cycles, ensuring constructive feedback and employee growth.
• Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions on policies, leaves and HR procedures.
• Maintain HR policies, handbook, contracts and records in the HRIS (Payworks), keeping everything audit‑ready.
• Full‑cycle recruiting using the ATS (JazzHR): source, screen, interview and build pipelines for a variety of roles.
• Coordinate smooth onboarding, working closely with IT, payroll and production teams.
• Provide light facility support during on‑site days, coordinating building management for utilities, AC or electrical issues.
• Manage access cards and alarm codes, assigning credentials to new hires.

Required profile

• Empathetic and resilient with a passion for full‑cycle HR and recruitment.
• Strong interpersonal skills to support both artists and leaders in a production environment.
• Ability to handle complex employee‑relations issues and maintain confidentiality.
• Detail‑oriented and organized, capable of keeping HR documentation audit‑ready.

Required skills

• Experience with HRIS platforms, specifically Payworks.
• Proficiency in applicant tracking systems, specifically JazzHR.

What we offer

• One‑year contract with the possibility of extension.
• Salary range $65,000‑$80,000 CAD per year.
