HR Generalist

About the role

LG is seeking an organized, service‑oriented HR Generalist to join its North York office. The role supports day‑to‑day delivery of core HR programs and acts as the first point of contact for routine employee inquiries. This is an excellent opportunity for an early‑career HR professional to broaden experience across employee relations, performance management, health and safety, leaves, compliance and off‑boarding.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day HR support to employees and managers, escalating complex or higher‑risk matters as appropriate.
• Assist with performance management activities, including coaching documentation, corrective actions and disciplinary processes.
• Coordinate health and safety administration, JHSC support, mandatory training tracking, incident documentation and compliance follow‑up.
• Administer leaves of absence, disability case coordination, accommodation documentation and return‑to‑work activities.
• Interpret HR policies, answer employee questions and support engagement action planning and manager capability‑building.
• Manage off‑boarding activities, conduct exit interviews and ensure proper hand‑offs to payroll and HR administration.
• Prepare HR reports, dashboards, compliance trackers and employee lifecycle metrics.

Required profile

• Early‑career HR professional with a service‑oriented mindset.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple HR processes simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with managers and the broader HR team.
• Knowledge of Canadian employment standards and health‑and‑safety regulations is a plus.
