HR Generalist – Burlington, ON

About the role

Wolseley Canada, the country’s leading wholesale distributor of plumbing, HVAC/R, waterworks and industrial products, is seeking an HR Generalist to support both corporate and field operations from its Burlington office. The role offers a blend of HR Business Partner support, Workday administration, employee relations, talent acquisition and compliance activities, providing a solid platform for professional growth in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Administer Workday for field HR Business Partners, covering onboarding, performance, talent management, training and special projects.
• Coach managers on employee relations, organizational policies and termination processes across corporate and field sites.
• Investigate and resolve employee relations issues, including disputes, investigations and disciplinary actions.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition to manage recruitment needs and support full‑cycle hiring.
• Lead organizational change initiatives such as job profile development, compensation analysis and offer letter preparation.
• Support the annual talent cycle – performance reviews, talent assessments and compensation planning.
• Prepare and deliver reports for various business units.
• Ensure compliance with federal and provincial employment legislation.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary education in Human Resource Management or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar HR Generalist role.
• CHRP designation (completed or in progress) is an asset.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle difficult conversations professionally.
