About the role

The Support Services Department at Palmerston & District Hospital is seeking a reliable Housekeeping Aide on a regular part‑time basis. You will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and waste removal throughout the hospital.
• Operate floor machines, carts, and ladders safely according to established protocols.
• Follow hospital waste and infection‑control procedures.
• Assist with set‑up and breakdown of patient rooms and common areas.
• Report equipment issues and safety concerns promptly.

Required profile

• Previous housekeeping experience in a hospital or similar healthcare setting.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work with minimal supervision.
• Strong interpersonal and customer‑service skills.
• Reliable attendance and satisfactory reference checks.
• Police Vulnerable Sector Check and pre‑employment health assessment.
