Patient Care Manager – Full Time

About the role

The Patient Care Manager leads the Inpatient, Emergency and Surgical programs at Palmerston and District Hospital. Reporting to the VP Quality, Clinical Services & CNE, you will oversee patient care, staffing, equipment, and financial performance while championing continuous quality improvement and LEAN principles.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operations of patient‑care departments, including scheduling, policies, documentation and standards of care.
• Oversee financial management of clinical programs, both operating and capital budgets.
• Facilitate clinical service committees and develop an annual work plan aligned with strategic objectives.
• Lead implementation of best practices, promote collaboration, effective communication and a just‑culture environment.
• Participate in regional and local committees to represent the hospital and advocate for patient‑care initiatives.

Required profile

• Regulated Health Care Professional in good standing with the relevant college.
• Undergraduate degree in a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of direct clinical experience in an acute‑care hospital (rural experience an asset).
• Experience in Emergency Department or Operating Room considered an asset.
