Hospitalist – Acute Care Physician

About the role

Fraser Health is looking for experienced physicians to join the hospital medicine program at Eagle Ridge Hospital. The role focuses on acute‑care inpatient medicine, working closely with an inter‑professional team to deliver high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Admit and manage patients as the Most Responsible Physician (MRP).
• Provide supportive care for surgical and specialty medical patients.
• Work independently while accessing off‑site specialty support by phone.
• Collaborate with nurses, nurse practitioners, allied health staff, and community physicians on discharge planning.
• Cover day and evening shifts on a 7‑day consecutive schedule; participate in overnight coverage proportionally to weeks worked.

Required profile

• Hospitalist experience, fellowship training, or membership in professional hospital‑medicine societies.
• Rural medicine experience is considered an asset.
• Superior clinical and communication abilities, bedside manner, and team‑management skills.
• Familiarity with community resources and collaborative discharge processes.
