About the role
We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen at Yuan's Garden Restaurant in Richmond, BC.
Key responsibilities
- Estimate amounts and costs of supplies and food items, and labour costs.
- Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory, and analyze operating costs.
- Supervise specialist chefs, cooks and other kitchen staff.
- Prepare and cook food for regular service and special events, and arrange equipment purchases and repairs.
- Consult with clients on weddings, banquets and specialty functions, and plan menus to ensure quality standards.
- Recruit, hire and train kitchen staff.
Required profile
- Secondary school graduation certificate.
- 2 to less than 3 years of experience in a restaurant kitchen.
- Leadership, dependability, flexibility, initiative, organization and reliability.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, physically demanding environment under pressure.
