About the role
We are seeking an experienced cook to join our restaurant team at Jiangnan Wok in Richmond, BC. The role involves preparing and cooking meals, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring food quality.
Key responsibilities
- Determine portion sizes and calculate food costs.
- Plan menus and estimate food requirements.
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies.
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes.
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas for cleanliness and safety.
- Train staff in food preparation, cooking, and handling.
- Order supplies and equipment as needed.
- Supervise kitchen staff and helpers.
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
- Clean kitchen and work areas.
Required profile
- Secondary school graduation certificate.
- 2 to less than 3 years of cooking experience.
- Physically demanding work; ability to stand for extended periods.
- Availability for evening, day, and weekend shifts.
