Geriatrician – Department of Medicine

About the role

The Department of Medicine at Mackenzie Health is seeking a board‑certified Geriatrician to provide comprehensive geriatric care across two community hospitals – Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital and Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital. The role involves delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred services to a growing population in the Greater Toronto Area.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct timely in‑hospital geriatric consults at both sites.
• Share weekend on‑call duties equally with the team.
• Manage outpatient geriatric referrals originating from the Emergency Departments.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Maintain consistent attendance and adhere to hospital policies and safety standards.

Required profile

• Medical degree recognized by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
• Post‑graduate training in Geriatrics and FRCSC certification.
• Membership in good standing with the Canadian Medical Protective Association or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Commitment to the values of excellence, leadership and empathy.
