General Farm Worker – Swine Production

About the role

County Line Swine is looking for a reliable General Farm Worker to join its swine operation in Adelaide Metcalf, Ontario. This permanent, full‑time position involves hands‑on care of farrowing sows and piglets in a rural, English‑speaking environment.

Key responsibilities

• Feed and tend to farrowing sows and their litters.
• Process piglet litters and provide care through weaning.
• Wash, clean and disinfect animal rooms to maintain bio‑security.
• Monitor animals for signs of illness or injury and report concerns.
• Check ventilation and temperature conditions to ensure animal comfort.
• Follow farm safety and bio‑security procedures at all times.
• Perform general farm duties, including lifting heavy objects and working in barns with odors and dust.

Required profile

• 7 months to 1 year of experience working with swine or similar livestock.
• Strong observational skills and ability to identify health issues.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work outdoors.
• Willingness to work weekends, including occasional Sundays (every third weekend, short days).
• English‑speaking, reliable, and able to follow safety protocols.
