HSE Superintendent

About the role

The HSE Superintendent leads the implementation of the Health, Safety and Environment management system for rigs in the Nisku area. This role drives a strong safety culture, monitors real‑time HSE performance and supports strategic planning to achieve Target Zero.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and enforce HSE standards, policies and regulatory requirements across assigned rigs.
• Conduct hazard and risk assessments, lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Monitor real‑time HSE indicators, report trends and advise management on gaps.
• Coach crews during regular rig visits, facilitate hazard hunts and support emergency response drills.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably on service rigs.
• Safety certifications: H2S, First Aid, WHMIS, Fall Arrest, Rig Rescue.
• Grade 12 or GED; preference for 5+ years in a wellsite leadership role such as Driller or Rig Manager.
• Ability to work in inclement weather and on a rotating on‑call schedule.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and industry best practices.
