Gas Plant Operator

About the role

The company is seeking a Gas Plant Operator to support day‑to‑day operations at an NGL fractionation facility. The role involves monitoring and adjusting process equipment, ensuring safe start‑up and shutdown, and collaborating with maintenance and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor process equipment within an NGL fractionation environment.
• Perform routine field rounds, equipment checks, and operational adjustments.
• Execute LOTO procedures, isolations, and equipment de‑energization.
• Issue, receive, and manage permit‑to‑work (hot work, confined space, line breaking, etc.).
• Support safe start‑up, shutdown, and emergency procedures.
• Maintain accurate logs, shift notes, and operational records.
• Troubleshoot process and equipment issues and escalate when required.
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and field operations teams.
• Participate in safety meetings, hazard assessments, and toolbox talks.
• Support training, competency development, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Class 4 Power Engineer certification with approximately 5 + years of experience, OR Class 3 Power Engineer certification with approximately 4 + years of experience.
• Direct gas plant experience is an asset but not mandatory.

Required skills

• LOTO and isolation procedures.
• Permit‑to‑work systems.
• Operation of process equipment and safety systems in hydrocarbon environments.
• Understanding of NGL fractionation or gas processing operations.
