Full‑time Trauma Physician – Level 3 Trauma Centre

About the role

The Fraser Health Authority is seeking a full‑time Trauma Physician to join the ARHCC Trauma Service within the Fraser Health Trauma Network. The physician will act as Trauma Team Lead/Consultant for activations and consultations, providing 24/7 on‑call coverage on a rotating schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Lead trauma team activations and provide expert consultations.
• Serve as the Medical Responsible Physician (MRP) for admitted trauma patients.
• Participate in a 7‑day on‑call rotation every two months, including onsite daytime coverage and home call within a 30‑minute travel window.
• Collaborate with emergency physicians, intensivists, anesthesiologists, surgeons and allied health professionals.
• Contribute to the multidisciplinary care environment of a 275‑bed Level 3 trauma centre.

Required profile

• Board‑certified in Emergency Medicine, General Surgery, or related specialty.
• Eligibility to practice medicine in Canada (US‑trained physicians accepted).
• Willingness to work collaboratively with a team of nine trauma physicians.
• Ability to fulfill the on‑call schedule and meet the 30‑minute travel requirement.
• Fellowship in Trauma or Acute Care Surgery is an asset but not mandatory.
