Full-time Trauma Physician – Level 3 Trauma Centre

About the role

The Fraser Health Authority is seeking a full‑time Trauma Physician to join the ARHCC Trauma Service at a 275‑bed regional hospital in Abbotsford, BC. The physician will act as Trauma Team Lead/Consultant for activations and consultations, and serve as the Medical Record Professional (MRP) for admitted trauma patients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead trauma team activations and provide expert consultations.
• Manage admitted trauma patients as the MRP.
• Participate in 24/7 on‑call rotations (approximately 7 days every 2 months) with onsite daytime coverage and home call within a 30‑minute travel window.
• Collaborate with emergency physicians, surgeons, intensivists, anesthesiologists and allied health professionals.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary care across a Level 3 trauma centre.

Required profile

• Board‑eligible or board‑certified physician with experience in trauma care.
• Fellowship in Trauma or Acute Care Surgery is an asset but not mandatory.
• Eligible to practice in Canada (US‑trained physicians are accepted).
• Willingness to work collaboratively within a team of nine trauma physicians.
• Ability to fulfill on‑call duties and respond within 30 minutes.
