Founding Family Physician – Primary Care Clinic

About the role

Avalon Health Clinic is launching a new multidisciplinary primary‑care centre in Greater Victoria and is seeking founding Family Physicians. This role offers the chance to build a relationship‑based practice within a fully supported, team‑oriented environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead longitudinal primary care for an attached patient panel across the lifespan.
• Diagnose, treat and manage acute and chronic health concerns.
• Collaborate daily with Nurse Practitioners, medical office assistants and allied health professionals.
• Refer patients in‑house to physiotherapy, occupational therapy, kinesiology, pelvic‑floor physiotherapy, counselling and rehabilitation services.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning for complex cases.
• Help shape clinical workflows and systems in the new clinic.

Required profile

• MD with full registration (or eligibility) with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.
• Active CCFP designation (or eligibility) and CMPA coverage.
• Commitment to continuity of care, patient‑centred practice and teamwork.
• Comfort with both autonomous practice and collaborative, multidisciplinary care.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
