About the role
The Financial Administrator provides essential financial support for the Southern Medical Program (SMP) within UBC's Faculty of Medicine. The role ensures smooth day‑to‑day accounts payable operations, maintains accurate records, and assists with teaching payment processing.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate daily accounts payable processes, including invoice entry, approval routing, and payment execution.
- Maintain and archive financial records, perform monthly reconciliations, and manage payee data for faculty and staff.
- Support the SMP Financial Officer in managing vendor contracts and preparing customized financial reports for planning and forecasting.
- Assist in drafting detailed budgets and ensure compliance with UBC policies and risk‑mitigation procedures.
- Liaise with internal departments, partner universities, and external health organizations to facilitate financial transactions.
Required profile
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to handle confidential information.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and commitment to policy compliance.
- Proactive problem‑solving and consultation with the Financial Officer on complex matters.
