Financial Accountant

About the role

West Coast Seeds is seeking a Financial Accountant to manage monthly and annual reporting for the company and its sister entities. The role is based on the picturesque farm‑style headquarters in Delta, BC, and supports the organization’s commitment to organic and sustainable agriculture.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare month‑end and annual audited financial statements with supporting working papers.
• Ensure sales tax and income tax compliance.
• Maintain and enhance accounting and inventory integrations, collaborating with vendors.
• Review and improve month‑end working papers for faster turnaround.
• Assist in budget preparation and variance analysis.
• Prepare board and month‑end reporting packages.
• Keep financial data up‑to‑date in SAP and develop KPI and special management reports.
• Process and review journal entries and transaction postings.
• Oversee inventory costing (landed cost and production/packaging) and analyze inventory for purchasing and asset management.
• Support the Director of Finance and senior management with ad‑hoc financial analysis.

• Positive, confident individual with strong interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated professional competency in financial accounting.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP financial modules.
