Experienced Grades Person – Road Construction

About the role

Park Paving Ltd., a leading road construction contractor in Edmonton, is seeking an experienced Grades Person to join its Excavation Services division. This full‑time seasonal role supports grading operations, ensuring accurate cuts and fills while maintaining safety on site.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret grades, general surveys, and construction drawings.
• Assist equipment operators by monitoring excavations and guiding them around utilities and obstacles.
• Provide precise cut‑and‑fill directions after material removals.
• Read grade stakes, offset hubs, and take accurate measurements.
• Identify grade markings and measuring points.
• Set up barricades and signage around excavation areas.
• Participate in equipment pre‑ and post‑trip inspections and general maintenance.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s licence with a clean record.
• Ability to pass a medical/fitness examination.
• Willingness to work long hours, overtime, and in physically demanding conditions.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and teamwork orientation.
• Commitment to safety, accountability, and a respectful work environment.
