Experienced Carpenter – Residential & Renovation Projects

About the role

Norwest Millwork Ltd is seeking a skilled carpenter to join its construction team in North Vancouver. You will work on residential renovations, new builds, and various on‑site projects, ensuring high‑quality craftsmanship and compliance with building codes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare layouts that meet building codes using precise measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
• Estimate material quantities and project costs.
• Repair, repaint, and finish wooden fixtures.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Trim joints, fit sub‑assemblies, and reinforce connections.
• Sand surfaces and apply veneer, stain, polish, or laminated plastics.
• Operate power saws, jointers, mortisers, shapers, and other woodworking machines.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation (high school).
• Minimum 5 years of carpentry experience in construction or renovation.
• Own reliable transportation and personal tools.
• Physically capable of handling demanding workloads.
• Accurate, punctual, reliable, and a strong team player.

Required skills

• Proficiency with measuring tools.
• Operation of power saws, jointers, mortisers, and shapers.
• Use of hand tools and sanding equipment.
• Application of veneer, stain, polish, and laminated plastics.
• Woodworking machine operation and maintenance.
