Assistant Foreman

About the role

Houston Landscapes Ltd. is looking for an Assistant Foreman to support daily landscaping and construction activities at its North Vancouver site. This is a full‑time, permanent position offering $32.50‑$34.00 per hour, with overtime paid according to BC Employment Standards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect landscaped areas daily to ensure they meet company standards.
• Assist the Foreman in prioritising horticultural tasks and assigning daily work.
• Coordinate ground‑maintenance workers, maintain work records and logs.
• Help estimate labour and material needs for projects.
• Support training and mentoring of new employees.
• Participate in the installation of paving stones, patios, walkways, ponds and other soft‑scape features.
• Assist with site excavation, grading and overall construction of landscaped environments.
• Act as a point of support on‑site in the Foreman’s absence, ensuring safety and efficiency.

Required profile

• High school diploma.
• Valid driver’s licence; comfortable operating a tractor, Bobcat and pick‑up truck.
• Minimum two years experience as a ground‑maintenance worker.
• Ability to supervise 3‑5 people.
• Willingness to work in all weather conditions.
• Team player with strong client focus and excellent oral communication.
• Fluent in reading, writing and speaking English.
