Executive Director, Compensation and Classification Services

About the role

The Health Employers Association of British Columbia is seeking a seasoned leader to direct compensation and classification services across the province’s health sector. Reporting to the Vice‑President, Human Resources Strategies and Services, you will shape policies that support over 138,000 unionized health‑care employees.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute compensation and classification strategies aligned with HEABC’s vision and provincial health‑human‑resources objectives.
• Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of compensation structures and classification frameworks.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with member organizations, unions, government agencies, and industry groups.
• Provide governance and oversight for compensation and classification processes, ensuring compliance and best‑practice standards.
• Identify opportunities to enhance HEABC services and support evolving member needs.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in compensation and classification leadership, preferably within the health‑care sector.
• Strong problem‑solving, change‑management, and strategic‑planning capabilities.
• Proven ability to engage partners, negotiate agreements, and influence provincial HR policy.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
