Executive Chef – Korean Cuisine

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead the kitchen at KIM’S Noodle, a vibrant Korean‑style noodle restaurant in Toronto. The successful candidate will drive culinary innovation, maintain high‑quality standards, and mentor a growing team of cooks. You will be responsible for shaping the menu, ensuring consistency across all dishes, and delivering an exceptional dining experience for both everyday guests and special events.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate and train staff on new cooking techniques and modern kitchen equipment.
• Create, test, and refine original Korean recipes and seasonal menu items.
• Supervise cooks and kitchen personnel, ensuring consistent preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation.
• Prepare meals for daily service and special events while upholding food safety and quality standards.
• Manage equipment purchases, repairs, and routine maintenance.
• Plan menus, control food costs, and ensure all dishes meet established quality benchmarks.
• Recruit, hire, and onboard kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and high‑performance environment.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation (high school) or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of professional kitchen experience, preferably in Korean cuisine.
• Strong leadership abilities and capacity to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Availability for evening and weekend shifts.
