Exclusion Technician

About the role

The Exclusion Technician works hands‑on to protect residential and commercial properties from wildlife and rodents by building physical barriers. This role focuses on structural proofing and repairs rather than chemical pest control, using construction skills to seal entry points and install deterrents.

Key responsibilities

• Seal cracks, crevices and entry points in foundations, soffits and rooflines with rodent‑proofing products.
• Measure, cut and install industrial door sweeps, exclusion screens and specialized hardware.
• Install bird netting, spiking and tension‑wire systems to prevent avian nesting.
• Work safely from ladders, scissor lifts or boom lifts to reach rooftops and high‑rise areas.
• Use power and hand tools (drills, saws, caulking guns) to complete permanent structural repairs.
• Assess sites for structural vulnerabilities and provide feedback to the service team.

Required profile

• Proven experience with power tools and general maintenance or construction tasks (carpentry, roofing, siding a plus).
• Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb, climb frequently and work in confined spaces.
• Valid G‑class driver’s licence with a clean abstract.
• No pest‑control licence required for this structural role.

• Installation of door sweeps, exclusion screens and bird‑deterrent systems.
• Operation of aerial work platforms (scissor lifts, boom lifts) or willingness to be trained.
