Estimator – Construction Projects

About the role

Hall Constructors is seeking a dedicated Estimator to join its estimating team. Reporting to the Chief Estimator, you will prepare, submit, and manage bids for a variety of civil construction projects, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Support the estimating team with timely, high‑quality takeoffs and cost calculations.
• Read and interpret contract documents, specifications, and drawings.
• Collaborate with project coordinators, subcontractors, and vendors to gather quotes and technical information.
• Maintain organized bid folders, including addendums, quotes, and drawings.
• Participate in on‑site and off‑site bid meetings and communicate progress to stakeholders.
• Stay current with industry standards, best practices, and software tools.

Required profile

• Eligibility to work in Canada.
• Minimum four years of construction industry experience.
• At least two years of independent civil estimating experience in areas such as underground utilities, excavation, piling, subdivision, paving, or civil structures.
• Post‑secondary education in Engineering or a related field is an asset.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Teams, Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Experience using Bluebeam for markups and quantity takeoffs.
• Knowledge of HCSS HeavyBid or comparable estimating software.
• Strong understanding of the full estimating cycle from takeoff to bid submission.
