ESL High School Teacher (Temporary)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher to join a public high school on a temporary basis. The position is remote, serving a rural community where students receive instruction in French. You will deliver curriculum‑aligned English lessons, assess progress, and collaborate with parents and school officials.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present lesson materials according to the approved curriculum.
• Assign, administer, and grade homework and tests.
• Discuss student progress with parents, students, and school officials.
• Participate in staff meetings, educational conferences, and teacher‑training workshops.
• Supervise teaching assistants and ensure classroom safety.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of teaching experience, preferably in a high‑school setting.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• TESL/TELF/TESOL certification and a provincial/territorial teaching certificate.
• Ability to pass a criminal record check.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
