Engineering Lead

About the role

We’re hiring an Engineering Lead to be the senior‑most engineering leader in our Burnaby office, responsible for direction, standards, and momentum across a ~10‑person team spanning growth engineering, B2B/enterprise delivery, DevOps/SRE, data engineering and highly sensitive systems such as authentication and billing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Burnaby office on‑site, setting operating cadence, standards and discipline.
• Build a high‑performance culture by promoting top performers and making tough talent decisions quickly.
• Champion an AI‑native engineering workflow where AI agents are part of daily development.
• Own delivery for growth, pricing, conversion, monetization and data‑science systems, reviewing designs and unblocking hard problems.
• Partner globally with teams in Mountain View, Shanghai and Chengdu, representing Vancouver’s engineering voice in company‑wide decisions.

Required profile

• Several years of experience managing engineers with a proven track record of turning a team around.
• Comfortable giving direct feedback, making hard people decisions and operating in a fast‑moving AI startup environment.
• Willing to work on‑site five days a week in Burnaby.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent and 8+ years building software, including 3+ years managing engineers.

Required skills

• Growth engineering experience (experimentation, conversion, monetization).
• Enterprise/B2B engineering experience (customer‑facing delivery, integrations, security reviews).
• Security and compliance for PII‑heavy systems (SOC 2, access control, data governance).
• Data engineering and DevOps/SRE expertise.
• Experience building AI‑native engineering cultures.
