Engineering Director, Automation

About the role

This is a high‑impact leadership opportunity for an experienced engineering leader who is passionate about scaling distributed systems, developer platforms, and automation infrastructure. You will head multiple engineering teams that build and evolve large‑scale integrations and automation systems powering continuous security monitoring for thousands of global businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and scale several engineering teams focused on integration platforms, automation infrastructure, and developer enablement.
• Define and execute technical strategies to improve scalability, reliability, and maintainability of distributed systems and integration services.
• Partner with Product, Design, Engineering, and business stakeholders to align platform initiatives with company goals and customer needs.
• Drive development and optimisation of integration frameworks supporting a broad ecosystem of tools and automated workflows.
• Improve engineering efficiency by reducing complexity and streamlining the build, maintenance, and deployment of integrations.
• Foster a high‑performance culture centred on mentorship, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Coach engineering managers and senior contributors while building resilient, collaborative teams.
• Lead strategic initiatives that support long‑term platform evolution, customer satisfaction, and operational scalability.
• Ensure high standards for execution quality, security, compliance, and customer data protection.
• Encourage responsible adoption of AI technologies to boost productivity and engineering outcomes.

Required profile

• 8+ years of engineering leadership experience in high‑growth technology environments.
• Proven track record leading and scaling engineering organisations of 40+ members across multiple teams.
• Strong background in distributed systems, platform engineering, integrations, or large‑scale infrastructure.
• Demonstrated success driving execution through engineering managers while maintaining alignment and delivery excellence.
• Strategic thinking and business acumen to connect technical decisions to measurable outcomes.
